I have several Marshall amps. All the power supply cables are identified as 18awg/300V/105°C. All have a Chinese name of sorts, but one that I have is marked "Grandsun" 18awg/300V/105°C but it is almost twice as large (outer jacket) as the other cables.

However, the back.of the Valvestate indicates it has the highest wattage of either the Origin or DSL40C - 350watts.

Any thoughts on this??? Outer jacket size insignificant???

The thicker outer jacket might garner you some extra insulation from interference from the conductors, debatable honestly. As far as its interior makeup, if its 18awg 300v 105°C wire, its the same across the board as its amperage, voltage and resistance capabilities.

The thicker one has water resistant or moisture resistant jacket.
The jacket can be abrasion resistant, making it thicker...also chemical and oil resistant etc...environmental protected.
But power wise it's usually about the same.
