He makes a lot of good points. Digital has made things so much easier but yeah, with the internet and music on demand, it's hard not to sound basic and generic because there are thousands out there probably doing what you are doing nearly the same.
 
Most people use same samples ,vst, IR, they use 5000 guitar tracks '' too thicken it up the tone'' they snap everything to the grid.... taking out the human element of playin....polish it up to the max every note... down tune guitars to Z tuning... do the 9000000x the break down...

This is my take.

I watch that guys channel, he has good points but he hates Marshall.... for that reason I cant like him 100%

I just watched a few of his videos…I do differ with his opinion on the 75 a bit(for some reason the ones I have don’t sound like the ones he had in one of his videos)…and I’m not a huge V30 fan(I like them in certain applications…just not everywhere)…
So….I should hate him, right?….
No…he’s got some cool stuff going on.

I didn’t say I hate him, hate is strong word :)

I said I cant like him 100%

I like t75s they sound awesome, especially with Marshall heads where it tames lots of highs.

I would like to have T75 and V 30s in X pattern in my cab that would be awesome.

Without watching the video, I agree with this. The only real studio experience I have is the 4 Afterglow songs we did. While the producer is excellent, we did retake things to the point of doing small parts here n there and piecing it. Makes it a bit disjointed.
While it sounds very good and professional in the end, I think I would like to do some basic tracks live off the floor. Drums, bass, n guitar. Drums plays to click to keep it kn time. I think the energy would be greater.

Its ok to pice together but not like machine. Its better to have best preference then polished turd!

I never played in studio, I play on my own and try to do everything on my own. But im not a pro or anything I just do it out of love of playing.
 
I haven't been in a pro studio in decades, but when we recorded our first album (late 80s), we did a dummy track, with the drummer, guitar and bass just doing a play through. Then we went back and used it as a guide to replace the guitars and bass, then I did my vocals on top.

Went into the studio about 5 more times in the 90s and always did basically this same thing. I can remember one time the drummer and I were doing one demo, just doing drums and guitar, and one take I would screw up, the next he would. We ended up laughing so hard cause we kept trading off screwups. But, we finally got that scratch track down and then I re-tracked my guitars, the bass player did his, then the drummer and I did the vocals.

And, when my brother had his studio going he had all the bands follow that same process, for the most part.

Having nothing but the drummer playing to a click track, then punching in everything else seems like it would lose that special synergy you get from jamming together.

The stuff I do now is all just me playing along to drum loops - and oh how I miss jamming with others. Having multiple people "make" the music is what makes it glorious, IMO.
 
Why just play along to drum loops. I have music on my MP3 player i buy from legit sites some are songs from their house band and some from actual artists. Its terrific, same as playing in a Band except you don't have all the nonsence of setting up, and getting them all together. My Wife and friends think its amazing.

Haven't watched it yet, but as far as the T75 is concerned... it's probably Marshall's best speaker for metal. It won't flub as fast as a 30 or even a 65. It handles frequencies better, and has many other positives going for it. It was also designed with harder rock in mind.

I'm still of the mind set where you practice, then record it live. Or, not at all. Overdubs are for rookies.
