My First Amplifier

They sure are odd looking...
how so its basically a FAT (or wide) strat derivative.... as a studio artist I would have thought you would embrace the many colors in the T-60 (or t-40) pallet -- out of phase coil switching treble bleed and tone "mimicking" (sound like a les paul a strat a tele at the twist of a knob) this thing was MODELING guitar tech BEFORE modeling ....... but ol Hartley never gets no credit ......

and for a thorough run down on the features......... the guy everyone LOVES TO HATE -- Scott GROOVY MUSIC Grove--

12" radius -- thin fast neck.... all the tones you need-- tilt neck adjustment .....built like a tank ...

Nothing at all wrong with them, I just always thought they were heavy (heavier than a les Paul IIRC) and seemed really strange looking to me. White's Music in Visalia, California, was a Peavey Dealer back in the 1980's. It appears that they still are.

In 1988, the band I was in chipped in and bought me a brand new 1987 Squire Stratocaster from them. That guitar is now in the collection of @Sp8ctre

I played thru my buddies' amps at first, but then when I decided to get serious, I picked this up:

Sounded incredible one day, horrible the next. So, I traded it in on a JCM900 and never looked back. In hindsight, it probably had a bad tube - which would have been a far sight cheaper fix than upgrading to the JCM... lol

My ears hurt just looking at that photo. I played with a guy who used one of those with two 4x12 cabs. Oooh the pain! That was around '89-'90. It was quite the contrast to my Hiwatt 50.

Mine has worked really well. Actually it was the 1st amp I got when I moved up here. The transtube circuit works really well and with a DS-1 in front, it really rocks!
I don't remember exactly what it looked like. They've been around for a long time, mine was a mid 90's model. I think I got it for Christmas in -94.

Dagger of Doooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome HEAD

Lol rest easy, that thing is too much of a bitch to use what i play normally. Done got too used to low frets, slick ebony/rosewood fretboards and high output humbuckers. Its alright for easy picking stuff or strumming but thats it
Just get rid of it…… I still can’t believe you went and bought that abomination….

Don’t give me “ for the last time I didn’t buy it” excuse lol
