Marshall 8200 Bi-Chorus Head - Oh poop!!! Its NAD:

Congrats Robert. I put that head on my watch list and a few hours later I got an email of the price drop too !

Ya, Man...

That test run up at your pad on your 8280 just re-ignited the dreams of a struggling, 28 year old musician who wanted one...

It is, thus far, the ONLY piece of gear from back then that actually sounds good to me today in 2021.....

So, the plan - at least at this point - is to add a grille to the top of the amp for improved cooling

The recovering the entire head in RED Tolex with the "cloth" under the Marshall script replaced with black Tolex...

When a Plexi is cranked up it sounds pretty good too.
But it's way too loud. It's louder than the band and PA combined.

But a SS 100W is about 1/3 as loud as Plexi...
which might be a good thing.
I would be thinking about 2 cabinets spaced widely apart, as opposed to - 2 speakers in the same cabinet. I think 2 separate spread speakers would enhance the stereo image a lot better.
Even if the 2 cabinets were each 1X12, I think it would work better.

But now you have the issue of a speaker that can stand 100 watts continuously, without weight of 60 Lbs. per speaker....

Nope....

@syscokid pointed that out to me. Great resource should we encounter problems.

Have a brand new MG100HFX as a back-up....

Ive found the BRITISH MADE VS line (and really any of the stuff made in Britania) are amazing amps--
the china or vietnam SS ones are VERY good as well.... but fall slightly short of AMAZING --- lol
you should be able to get many many killer tones from it Robert

Congrats man
