Gotcha.

When I installed the coil split on my Studio, I mainly used it when playing clean. I found that it would lend an airy quality to strumming passages, especially if using both pickups split. For distorted or heavily overdriven passages, I didn’t care for it as much.

They do say these are limited availability but who knows for sure. They're only available on the Gibson website and not that easy to stumble across.

Very cool color! Classic is a great design.
Try the direct bypass out. I use it to go from lower volume maybe neck or both to straight out bridge full bore. Then back again as the song calls for it. Very handy!.,

So it showed up today.




Have only plugged it in long enough to just make sure everything works, so have not had a chance to feel it out yet but first impressions are 100% positive. The color is twice as badass in person as it is in photos. Slim Taper neck feels fast. Finish and fretwork are flawless. As they have been doing lately the action is way too low from the factory - it does not fret out at all but I need to raise it up and get a set of 9's on it before I can evaluate. Will report back when I get to use it in anger, maybe tomorrow (busy with work today).

Interesting that mine came with amber tophats and switch tip instead of the gold reflectors and white tip shown on the website. I think I prefer the look though, so they stay!

This one‘s weight relieved?

You may be pleasantly surprised. The Les Paul Studio I used to have was pretty significantly weight relieved and it did add a “thing” to the sound. It didn’t lack for sustain, either.

Makes sense, with all the resonation chambers created as part of the "weight relief regimen" they subject these babies to...
