I so badly...

I think I kinda yell in tune! I need to belt out high parts, I can't sing em quietly. I do a bit live and also backing.
I too dislike my own voice recorded but it is all I have to work with...

At home I played with some stuff when the vid first hit. Alice Cooper and April Wine each have songs that have very similar riffs so I combined them!
Tis Alice Wine. Just pissing round

Good job Jethro ! I can see singing that song would be a tough one to do.

Yeah, I guess so. It's going better and better. Still, I feel like lessons would probably help.
Sing along to some records, and pick songs that you really like and know the lyrics. Work on that constantly to develop pitch. Also, figure out your range at the same time. You may find you need to sing along to other stuff to get a good ear for how you should be singing. After that, memorize lyrics and concentrate on singing over playing. Sounds weird, but it helps to know what you're singing without thinking in the least bit. Then, you should be able to concentrate a bit more on playing if you're not concerned with singing. The only reason I learned to sing, is we fired our singer after he called me to bail him out of jail for beating up his wife.

Here's a video of a hack singer(me), but I'm pretty confident with what I do.

I never aspired to sing, but found it necessary due to unreliable, prima-dona vocalists.

I am a fairly versatile singer. It gets the job done anyways...

And I do acknowledge neither Neil Young or Tom Petty has the most melodic voices…. But their range is at least more than two notes.

Some vocalists I simply cannot listen too:

Steven Tyler
Neil Young
Aaron Neville
George Jones
Allison Krause
Geddy Lee

I've never heard a complete work by any of them because I cannot endure their vocals.

May God bless them and may they be prosperous...
