Was playing wirelessly through the new little NUX amp in the family room yesterday for my captive audience (2 cats). About 10 minutes into playing the damn amp starts playing Semisonic’s Closing Time, about a minute into the song. I was was, WTF ! This is weird, there ain’t no radio built in. So I’m trying to figure this out and I see the little blue BlueTooth LED flashing. The amp had paired itself with my iPad in the kitchen and started playing all on its own. I have not paired the amp with anything!

We're you playing an unshielded Gibson???
 
My phone did that to me in my wife’s Buick. Paired up with it when I got in. I don’t usually have Bluetooth turned on unless I’m going to use it…. Think playing thru a Bluetooth speaker. But apparently I had left it on. Tried to use the verbal function on her car to change radio channels and it wouldn’t do it. The voice kept telling me it didn’t recognize that channel. Was starting to get a bit ticked off…. Ok…… pissed is more like it….. when I finally realized it was my Australian voiced Siri talking to me instead of the Buicks voice. Duh!! Shut off my phones Bluetooth and all was well. And was happy I was the only one in the car to witness my stupidity.

I had that installed on one of my PCs to replace the Windows “Ding” when I’d hit a wrong key or for an error. I make way too many mistakes…. Hal was way too busy talking to me so I had to change back to the default.

In my early Windows years I replaced a lot of the default sounds too. The Windows shutdown, Tada, was replaced with Arnold’s “I’ll be back”

I did have Hal say hello and goodbye when I turned on/off the computer. Also has a toilet flushing sound for emptying the trash.
