Pymetrics?

I work in the IT/Computer field. Yes, they do want to test to see if you have the knowledge to perform the job they are hiring for.
Rather than interview 1000 people and make a choice, they separate the wheat from the chaff with this test. People that show that they know what they are doing may get an interview. Those that do not pass have their resume tossed into the circular file. Some of these tests also show if you would be a good/loyal employee and not steal the stapler to take home.
I don't see how a test that literally asks me to tap the screen as many times as I can in 60 seconds is going to help them, or anyone, accomplish that lol

It was just silly....I've taken aptitude tests and similar, etc....but this was different. This was stupid. Oh well. I played along because why not.

Critical facilities engineer, btw, is the position I applied for. I've got a few years in that field so I imagine that would be more valuable to them than how many times I tapped my screen in a minute, but who knows anymore.

You thought you played them.
But they played you.
Definitely not what it appears to be.
This is what I was thinking from the get-go. Another way for some company to collect and process data for profit from me, (and others) simply trying to become employed. Sounds about right to me.

The “them” is not a human being. It an artificial intelligence algorithm. The final results will be reviewed by a human but the AI is doing the screening. The goal wasn’t simply to see how fast you could tap the screen. The AI scores you on your ability to follow directions, your impulsivity, and your general motor function.

Think of it this way…a percentage of your potential salary at this prospective company was spent on this test. They value it over you.;)

Yeah I gathered that from the introductory video I had to watch.

Good thing it was beyond easy lol

Hey McB! here's a link to a website that gives you a more in-depth look at how the tests work, why they use them and also gives you some chance to practice (at a cost, of course). But the info on the page is free... :p

Ok Six String, I'm ready to hire, you in for the test?..

Yes, exactly. This is somewhat bothersome to me....

I'm pretty tired of big companies seeing employees as numbers instead of actual real life people.

I feel like tests like this are a pretty good sign that that's exactly how this company in particular probably operates.

But I could be very wrong, it's been known to happen.

Welcome to the new world , it isn't pretty...

More and more decisions are being assisted by or made by AI.

Wanna see something scary?

Look at the pictures below. None of these people exist. Every image was generated by artificial intelligence.
