Looking for an Acoustic...

Taylor makes really nice guitars. And in the size you’re looking. Downside is. They tend to be pricey.

I can handle pricey. I've been looking at some of the Taylor Koa Wood models pretty hard. However, the one I really want is SUPER Pricey at $5100! Did I mention I'm a poop guitar player?

I think I might buy an Alvarez Yairi.
Taylor is a good one.
The smaller guitar is a "folk" sized...not a dreadnought or an auditorium size.

I would also buy a Harmony Monterey...I like arch top guitars.
Maybe you should look at some arch tops.

The Koa wood guitars are amazing. At least to look at. Unsure how they stack up tone wise compared to more traditional wood used in acoustic guitars.

I’ve played a few Koa Taylors. If I had the spare five grand, I would definitely own one.

I have four electrics, a bass and two acoustics. I don’t think I’ve spent 5g on the lot. My 12 string and Ovation that I bought in the 70s were new. As is the Strat I bought a few years ago. The rest have been used. And that price include any mods I have made to a couple of the electrics. That said. Yeah. I’d buy a KOA Taylor if money was no object.

I’m in the same camp. Except for the ES-335, you could easily put any six of my guitars together and not hit $5000 out of pocket costs.

Chris, I know my measily little Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat will not suit your fancy, but for a basic non full bodied guitar, it is cheap, sounds great amped up, it has a Fishman on it and hey, you could likely buy it and not spend much more than what a full tank of California gas would set you back. And possibly buy a 2nd fancier one and not even feel a pinch of buying the Hellcat.
