I've always thought the holy grail was to find a few people who you could connect with on a cerebral level where nothing in the universe existed other than the music that was being created at the time. Every now and then it does happen. It's better than any drugs or sex. Honestly, if the bass player I'm playing with for the past several years could hook us up with more time, and we could get a regular drummer, he's one of the best I've ever played with. Better than I'll ever be. We've been having some good jams that need to be put to tape. He locks up well with his old drummer, and our regular drummer is really good, and an exceptional singer. I can't wait for him to heal up from his hip and knee replacements. I wouldn't care if I gigged again if we could play consistently once a week. If we could get paying gigs doing what we're doing, that would be a bonus. But it's not the primary goal.
Awesome, Man!!!!
I'm too strange to connect with anyone. When I play, when I perform, its euphoric. I have super bad anxiety when the show is over, so I try and find a way to keep playing constantly. I often cannot sleep well after a show...
Later in the evening
As you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers
Ringin' in your head
You smoke the day's last cigarette
Rememberin' what she said
