It's deviated so far off in the first episode I could barely get through it! The characters are nothing like described in the books. They are shallow and uninteresting.

I was afraid undertaking such a huge story that spanned 14 books would be tough and I feel I was right. This is a flop for me...

Watched the first two. I can see they are deviating to set things up to shorten the story. I think it may end up decent on it’s own but it will rankle for those who are big fans of the books. They were enjoyable books to read, enjoyable enough that I read them all, but there are much better fantasy series to my mind.
