Its been happening for months now

We will all continue to see prices rise with the supply chain issues. Food , fuel. clothing , and the list goes on. I read an article a couple of days ago, Shipping costs on furniture are equal to the price of the furniture..

Nothing new we have already seen prices go up and it will get worse. It's happening World wide.

Canadian grocery shoppers warned to expect 'several months of rockiness' as food prices rise
Canadians are likely to see inflated food prices at their local grocery stores for several more months, some experts say
The price increases are permanent, and you could expect that prices will go quite a bit higher than they are now. Several more months...don't bank on it.

Pretty much what happened in the big recession of '08... food, fuel, services, utilities, etc... cost and hence price increases trickling down the different levels of the economy, to affect everything and everyone.

Labor shortages, people choosing to stay home and either keep working from there or taking the time to find a new job that is better paid or just safer... the whole supply chain is being disrupted and upset in a never seen before scale. I'm seeing it first hand in my workplace.

yep-- same here.....

factor in supply shortages -- cant get parts for machines--
cant get materials
takes longer to get and costs way more -- causing loads of issues

Prices have gone crazy here and supply isn't meeting demand. Utility prices have risen by about 50% too over the last few months, simply keeping warm and eating has got very expensive.

Seeing here as well.
As long as the fat cats are getting richer, and the global community is a better place, its all quite kumbayatopian.

"The more you suffer
the more it shows you really care - right?
yeah, yeah, yeah"

Maybe all this really does have something to do with the price of tea in china.
I'm sure the Central Planning Dept. will have all this sorted in a jif'.

Meanwhile, those of us who are a bit pudgy may actually be better off: in the short run we are better insulated as "winter is coming", and in the not-so-short run those stored calories are much more valuable today in respect to food prices.

Low wattage amps are sure to become even more popular.
Come to think of it - acoustic guitars maybe even more so.

I'll have to get back to that treadmill project - manually walking the treadmill turns a salvaged truck alternator which trickle charges the batteries when the solar panels cant keep up.

I havent calculated whether we'll freeze to death or starve first......

And the Wallace Hartley Band played on.....

I ( repeat after me) I ( repeat after me), I ( repeat after me) will not say anything " Political"

I (repeat after me) x3, will not mention that word other than Corona same as "CENSORED"
But I will say that jtcnj has officially made me want a P B and J sandwich as I am now hungry. Ya see, after that JIF comment I must now go make a sandwich, despite by my doing so, this thread will derail.

In reverence to Chaucer and Swift, I should have just said I am happy to do with less, for the common good, even if it is gooderer for some than others. Thankfully, I'm not GASsing for any gear I now have even less chance of affording.

If it was wrong of me to imply the current conditions are largely due to some form of official grift and/or mismanagement - regardless of party affiliation, then please accept my apologies.
Wrong to say it here, that is.

JT No apologies needed here. I know why things are how they are. I am just surly when it comes to certain restrictive forces that resemble something out of old Salem, Berlin, Moscow, Beijing or Pyongyang.

I have no idea who Chaucer or Swift is unless they are Taylor's parents.
