FRIDAY NIGHT RIFFS

Thanks dude! I've been gettin antsy to share it, but it's not done yet. LRT has a couple things to work on, as do I.
That's me on leads.......and bass too!
First try at double tracking, there's a little slop here and there.
But we're gonna keep at it until it's done. I just laid down the bass tracks today and was getting eager to share lol
Keep working on it, it sounds promising but don’t forget your roots, Thrash thrash thrash!

How's the bass levels sound to you guys?
Too loud?
Not loud enough?

I've never recorded bass before...
I like the mix….the bass is there, but not screaming over the guitars.
if you haven’t yet, and are willing to, you could try taking the dive into carving spots for instruments with subtractive eq. You could start by placing a high-pass filter on each guitar track that starts cutting around 100-120Hz. Then you could try cutting about 3dB at around 220-250Hz…also on guitars.
Finally you could notch out around 3-5dB off the bass somewhere around 1-2.5kHz.
Play around with levels after that, and you may find each instrument to be more defined.
 :dood:

All tracks are as recorded. I haven't done anything to them at all.....
But that's exactly the kind of advice we need. So happens that we've been talking a lot lately about how to separate our guitars from each other a bit more, and I suspect that I'm gonna have to learn how to EQ stuff in the DAW.
I'll take a look into that at some point.
Thanks! Always a help, you are!

Well, it's not Friday, but hopefully by the time it is, we'll have redone this one a little better.....Still needs a bit of work.
But I'm getting antsy to share it just the same lol

That was really great!
My 2 cents worth of advice for EQ-ing your tracks is adjust it to your liking, then leave it alone for 2 days and go back to it, it will sound different. If it doesn't, then it's probably perfect.

I could definitely listen to a whole album of that. Great job!

Here's the ugliness my stinkbrain came up with tonight.

Tonight's wankfest.
This is actually the riff to the first song I ever really recorded. Wowza that was a while ago!

I can't seem to hear the drums in the video at all. I turned my amp way down too.

Dig 'em both. Love that Jackson, too!

I had just quit playing in late 93 for the second time.
Picked it back up in 2008 or so.
Here I am..
Tonight’s foray

As always, great job!
