Recording and production.

@Ramo - a while back, you posted your method of recording phone (?) video/audio and mic or DAW audio, then combining and synching the video with the better audio.
Could you recap that here or link to it?

I will make a new video on how I do it. It might not be how others do or there might be a simpler way to do it but I will show you my version.

Awesome, thank you for this.
What would you recommend to a total n00b as far as a good entry level video editing software?
I still find Reaper to be overwhelming, not too sure I want to try something that will make it difficult for me lol
One I use its simple enough but it dose not have many options and its more harder to sync video.

In latest Movavi updated version that process its a lot simpler ( so they claim).

one thing you have to remember is which ever software you’ll choose you have to make sure your pc can handle it. Some of them are really heavy in using CPU and it makes editing really tedious and slow. Also it lags a lot.

Ahh yes, that was going to be one of my next questions.
I don't have a PC, I have a Samsung Galaxybook that runs Win 10. It's just a tablet, really lol
I imagine that will limit me pretty hard as to what I can and can't run.

Some tablets are powerful enough to handle , just check your tablets spec and compare it to software you are planning to download and see if they can work together.

Blink. Check out Splice.
I have that app on my iPhone. It’s pretty good and simple. It looks a lot like what Ramo has.
@jtcnj

here is the video, excuse me, I had cold when I filmed this video.

You are the man Ramo.
great video.

At one point I used APP called “Inshot” when I used my phone for editing but its more hard to do editing on the phone.

That App can work on tablets.

Okay Bob Rock, @Thatbastarddon lol

I listened to our last jam "Blow" in my truck, my truck has a nice Bose system in it....and I didn't like what I heard. It sounds alright I guess, using the PA monitors that I've been using to listen back to stuff with, but not in my truck. LRT had some similar complaints when he listened on various speakers and systems, etc...

So I heeded your advice to me in the Friday Riffs thread, and here's what I did:

I played around with the high pass filter and dropped 3dB on all guitar tracks around 100-120Hz and another 3dB at 200-250Hz, then I dropped 4dB out of the 1800kHz range on the bass, finally I dropped the master volume 3.8dB

This is what I have now. It's a subtle, but good, difference on these PA monitors.
Am I on the right track (hehe) here?

I don't like dicking around in the DAW.
LRT and I both run GE-7s in the loops of our amps, could we make similar adjustments there and forego the stuff in the DAW?
I feel like that's what we should be doing. Garbage in, garbage out.......
I think adding bass is what threw us off here, as before, with no bass, instruments weren't clashing to dominate the same frequency ranges.

But I'm no Bob Rock...

I’m gonna say…get used to it….it’s a natural thing. Recording everything as it sounds, and then carving out the spaces to make everything “fit”. It’s kinda a given that you’ll be doing the high pass thing with the guitars, but leads are gonna be different per-tune….learn how to put the puzzle together…you’ll be happier.
This track has an example for learning…the wah part could benefit from a push around 2kHz…small..like 3dB.
