NGSGMD...It's About Damn Time!

Awesome!
Glad your first impressions are positive, ie - worth the wait.
Maybe new strings, letting the neck acclimate and maybe a little attention to the nut slots will cure the sketchy tuning.

interested to know what you think of the Burstbucker Pro pickups after some time.

I like my fine now but not so much at first - once I finally got the intonation sorted and quit trying to play at (too) low volumes and mostly pedal OD.

I'm still having difficulty keeping it in tune. Not sure if it's the acclimation process or the Gibson strings. I never use them. They feel good and sound fine, but not sure they have the stability of the NYXLs. Anyway, I'm just goofing around here. This is all clean channel on the DSL100HR with gain maxed with a clean boost except for the high solo which is on Ultra gain neck pickup tone rolled off. Played a bit with the tap switching as well.

Nice work Cador! sounds good, but i think you could show a little more emotion when you play....:D

Just out of curiosity, how much would you tweak the truss rod at a time? This was built in Tennessee a few weeks ago and is now residing just shy of the Canadian border. And there is a little snow on the ground. I noticed the change in the action after two days. An eighth of a turn? Too much, too little?

I really like these pickups in this guitar. I'm playing with a lot less gain with this one. Mostly just the clean channel with gain maxed and bumped with a clean boost using my DSL100HR. They sound great in standard and tapped mode. This guitar is going to stay stock. The only thing I don't like is the mini Grovers. I love Grover tuners, but these are too small. I will live with them though.

Nice one buddy. Glad you finally got it. Any word on the status of your other guitar?
Last I heard I'm looking at June for the LP Modern. I ordered it about three weeks after this one. The shop owner did seem to think things were speeding up at Gibson and it might not be that long. We'll see, but if it is anything like this one it will be worth the wait.

Do report back on that one. I have serious interest in the Moderns

My Custom Shop is a Modern. Thinner body, nice sculpting, hot pickup. (490 or 500T). Very light but ballsy. Very.... modern.....

Do yourself a favor, and get a humidifier. Unless you already have one. I have to turn mine on again, after just turning off my dehumidifier. In one week, the humidity in my cellar dropped from 55% to 35%.
