I Notice a Lot of Love for Agile Guitars...

How are the stock electronics and pickups in the Agile lesters (pots, switches, pickups). How do the pickups sounds? Are they something you'd suggest planning on swapping out? Just curious, 'cause this thread is causing Agile G.A.S. in my The Who - I want it, I want it... part of my brain ;)

NOt a bit--- HELL I have bought a wiring harness FROM RONDO to put in something else (cant remember now) but they are good 500K ALpha Pots--good caps---excellent pups--- no need to change a thing--- at least at the 3010 level--- I am not certain for the 2000 series.....what was in Aggie Grant???

What is it?

What would you prefer, esge's Agile ($ 200) or this Gibson ($ 3,200). I will take the Agile and $ 3,000 please!!

In a recent comparo tour--- I took said Agile NEON OCEAN BURST (thing is NUCLEAR) --- on a trip to visit a friend with HIGH $$$$ Gibsons --Martins--Taylors-- Fenders--PRS's etc etc you get the picture--- NICE gear---RARE gear...... ALSO he has a PANAMA Conqueror --- so --- APPLES TO APPLES to my "home rig" testing.

HE was BLOWN AWAY at the Agiles quality/price ratio.......and in side by side ---through the same amp--- simultaneous testing/playing/noodling........the Agile was deemed seriously on par--as good--- as Gibsons costing THOUSANDS MORE ---no B.S.--- no games no agenda.

These are excellent full bodied solid, well krafted, well made--- great sounding guitars. ---with standard features that EXCEED anything offered by Gibson --or any other mass producer that I know of--- period. What Gibson COMES with a Tusq Nut---Graphite Saddles --and Ebony Fingerboard STOCK--please find it for me....post it here WITH the retail price---

AND --- I will dig deeper into the ol piss off people with truth box--- I have owned 8 Agiles over the years and 5 SX's and 2 Douglas's from Rondo ---none---not a one--- EVER came out of the box broken, unplayable, damaged, or anything OTHER than what was advertised......not a single one needed taken to a luthier ever.....not a single one disappointed me in ANY FASHION....

I am NOT a paid spokesperson---- I am just a fan of quality/$$$ values out there.

AND if you dont mind a "ding" or "B" stock deal.......this (I have played them) is on par with a JAGUAR bass----sounds like a JAZZ bass....
89.00---- friggin come on................

I have to admit, I'm a fan of SX gear and have owned a couple. I a furrian to a bass play and the guitar player in his band play it live a lot (luvs it evidently). I've also looked at the Agile Valkyrie's on and off. Anyone ever own an Agile Valkyrie?

Aggie sounded just fine stock, but the modder inside me let me know that resistance is futile. I too have the stock ceramic P-90s reserved for a future project.

I'm not as convinced as you lot, but I haven't played one, so can't give an informed opinion.

I remember when all the Harley Benton loving was going on, I bought 2: a $200 LP copy that was pretty poor and a $150 70s jazz bass which was very decent and playable, but not on a par with a $300 Squier bass, imho. I ended up virtually giving them both away; no market for them at all here...

They're made in Korea, aren't they, these Agiles, but I wonder what factory? There are lots of Korean brands here, and some are very good, some are expensive, and some are very reasonably priced.

They hold their value really badly (here at least). For example, this Cort with a hardcase is $200 in Seoul Craigslist, I suspect a certain member would be all over this like a bad rash; if it was P90s then I'd have bought it.

(These Corts are not Korean made though.)

If anybody knows which Korean factory makes them and what other brands come out of the factory then I'll try some out.

Cort, seem to me, better value than Agile. For example, this fancy flame maple top with SDs, graphtech nut, tonepros and kluson hardware is $460 delivered to my door. I've nearly bought it several times, but the resale value is so low that unless you fall in love with them it's not really worth it.

I have not seen one around these parts. Even more odd, many of thr members here used to bep part of an SG forum and I do not think even 1 of them had a Valkryrie. I have come close once or twice

^ thank you, Sir. I will check them out!

Obviously, manufacturers change factories all the time and change agreements (like Fender Japan), and guitars are built to a wide range of specs.

But, clearly, that factory have years of knowledge and experience and are very capable of making excellent guitars at very reasonable pricepoints. I heard yesterday, that Blackstar/Laney amps (at least some of them) are also made closeby - I don't know if that's true, but seems reasonable.
