It's all about the Rrrrrriiiffffffss!

I have no complaints about the ec1000, it's a lot more comfortable than my LP and it plays very well. 2 more frets as well. It is a lot lighter, not as light as my SG, but pretty light.
If you're not hung up on brand names, the esp is a great choice.

I already have 2 LTDs one of them is EC-256 lower end of the Ec-1000 lower the number the less quality. But my ltd I love it feels really good and with few upgrades I think it will be killer guitar.

Here's another example of the tone Shift button at work.

Tell me which one you like better?

Button ON (scooped)

Button OFF
Depends on what you're playing really. Heavier stuff? Tone shift engaged, more open sounding stuff, its better without it. I personally use mine with it engaged but i crank up the mids and compensate it ( same thing on the Mode Four with its Scoop switch). It gives it that fat bottom end but lets the mids bleed in at the same time, which i learned over time, are the core to a good guitar tone ( since the guitar by design is a midrange voiced instrument: mid focused).

Love the Six Feet Under you're doing here by the way!

Good to know! I have an EC1000 with piezo coming at some point. So killer guitar with the acoustic ability. Nice to know they are an excellent player and more comfy than an LP

So I did a little thing.... Sold my SG (to one of my students who has been begging me to sell it to him for over a year)...... and I bought another satin LP.
This one's a 2014 (120th anniversary) LPJ. Which means no pickguard, no binding, and a Maple neck. This one is a 50"s carve as well. Pickups are 61 zebras. I'm going to be changing them out soon. Not heavy enough.

It's used, but it's pretty dang mint.
I yanked the strings off, Lem-oiled the board, installed Straploks, trying out a Top Wrap for the first time with beefy slinky's. Tuned straight C#

Here's my first ten minutes with it.

Seems a bit on the bright side for a Paul. I'm sure it's the top wrap, the maple neck and these pickups.
Going to probably stick a black winter and 59 combo in it next week.
