There's a route I take, using road 2N47, that allows me to traverse that entire mountain area, join the Polk OHV trail around Silverwood Lake, and drop down into the Mojave River Bed just east of Hesperia Lake Park.

It's not an easy ride, but I can go all the way to Chloride City in Death Valley and back and never use a paved road...

We’re about a quarter mile east of the 3W19 trail. It would be about a 10 mile hike on that trail to Silverwood lake. In my first pic, just about dead center, if ya zoom in, is a finger of Silverwood lake.

We live in a really nice, hillside neighborhood. We have Ferraris and Lamborghinis on this block. But, we get a lot of porch pirates and that sort of thing.
