A future shredder of the world

Thats awesome! He looks like he already went to the Ramo school of Thrash, Jackson, throwin up the horns and everything!
He knows the which one is the righteous path and only that path will lead to THRASH gods!
@Beagle are you teaching him metal or the non metal stuff you play?
Also, you look like character from Tom & Jerry cartoon where the humans didn’t have heads. LoL

Teach him how to shred with no mercy!

He naturally wants to hold it the proper way even. He will eventually fully appreciate what you're doing for him by helping him embrace music with a passion. It's a lifelong gift that keeps on giving.

Great job Dad! :bang:

Thanks man.
I was hoping he grow up shredder and better than me player. He chose different path (drumming) he had his first lesson this week and he loved it. I still bully him into guitar riffing lol

A lot of the great thrash drummers are also decent guitarists, like Charlie Benante from Anthrax, even though Scott Ian is known as a speed demon rhythm master, Charlie wrote most of the music including the guitar parts.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that you don't like Anthrax...:bash:
I like John Bush era Anthrax, not all but some.

Let him follow what he wants to do. Watching your own kids do something they love is the best feeling in the world.
I am, I rather him do what he wants and feeling passionate about than him doing what I want. He is a drummer at heart, he keeps tapping when he hears music trying to find tempo and trying to lock into the beat. I fully support him no matter what path he choses.

Yea and don’t push him or he will lack interest in it all.
My grandson Scott took 2 years before he actually wanted to play guitar, then he wanted to play drums.
He was 10 when I bought him his first guitar.
Cheers

Here we are 2 months later and my grandson is now proficient enough to switch cords in time with me counting off beats 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4...
So far he can go Em -> D -> A -> Em all down strokes. The plan is to start incorporating more open cords in the mix. But with what he has now, he could do the opening riff of Back in Black. Well, that is, once I get him to do alternate picking and strumming. Yeah I know lofty goals, thats just a proud grandparent talking here.
I still havent taught him the dreaded F chord yet.

Anyone else teaching the future of music?

Good news, teach him to down pick and gallop fast.
