I might have beenI thought at first that you must have been in great pain, then I realised that it was the backing track. The Burny and Quilter sound good.
For me it's ZZ Top.I feel the same way about Kiss
I don't mind the music really. I just can't stand their mind numbing lyrics.I can understand that due to their 80s output. Everything before that was pretty, pretty, pretty good.
I like when lyrics make me think and/or feel something. Hotel California is a great example of thought provocative lyrics. Then there are single lines that just make the entire lyrical content. Like "I'm in love for the first time, ans this time I know it's for real". Or "...the sun is the same in a relative way, but I'm older...". Or this one, it's just great: "Playing solitaire til dawn, with a deck of 51".Ahhhhhhh, I see... so we're basically talking about pop music. I totally understand. I love a lot of music, but I hate almost as much of the lyrics. Vocals can make or break a great song: Great vocals and/or lyrics rarely make a crap song better, but conversely even just mediocre musings can totally ruin an otherwise great song. That's why I stick to instrumentals. I don't think music warrants vocals by default unless all you're trying to do is get plays.
This reminds me of my best bud growing up. He thought that, literally, any lyrics about love which rhyme were good and Odin forbid a song without vocals.
We're all waitingI have never sung that out loud to anyone else.
