I was thinking of making it the back of the guitar! Then another nice top piece and a simple piece of wood for the middle. Of course, that would get a bit up there in price.

That is definitely an option, RVA. Also, maybe consider a couple of lipsticks, strategically placed? Would also give it a unique tone...

Or even consider putting a "regular" top and giving it one heckuva paint job all the way to the middle of the sides, the border being where this beautiful slab for the back joins the overlying piece of wood.

P90s is a great way to go, for sure... Maybe even mini-HBs like on a firebird.

So anyway, we recently went to 2 more laser shows at the local community college planetarium.
Led Zeppelin two weeks ago and then Dark Side of the Moon this past weekend.
Really enjoyed both.

The Floyd show had a little better visuals, and the record itself just seemed better suited to the laser show experience.

I dont have a good Hi-fi system at home and it was really nice to hear all of this pretty loud on a good system.
Didn't realize how much I miss it.

I dont dance with Mary Jane anymore, but a little would have been nice for these.
