So Anyway...

So anyway,

I'm at the end of my driveway. That's where the state highway is closed and and all that cloudy stuff in the sky is smoke. I got pictures and video of everything for insurance. I also saved the DSL1HR, my pine 212, my Monty Python kniggits and the killer bunny. Oh, and the guns. All of the guns.

Everything is fine right now. The fire has grown to 4,000 acres and is 9 miles to the west. It is drier than crap up there. I'm talking crunchy grass. They aren't expecting containment until September 1 at the earliest, so anything could happen at this point.

Actually, it wouldn't be terrible if it burned down. I have $170k on the building itself and $120k on personal property. I have enough "stuff" up there to easily hit the dollar values and build a bigger and better house. Still, losing the trees would suck.
Stay safe, Chris and let us know how it goes...

So anyways, as we are close to gigging, JCM800 out, Orange TH30 is in the lead but bigfot came & now the Recto is being used in practice tonight Love that 800 but time ta go.. guy might trade me a 1982 harley sportster for & it & i will scream there to do the deal.. even skip practice if he is ready.

So, had a bandmate and his wife come over for dinner last night about 5:30pm and just to chat in general. They left about 9pm.

About 9:30pm, I get a call from a colleague/friend who's engineering at East/West on Sunset and needs a guitar player ASAP. It's a 70 mile drive, but traffic is light this time of night.

I been awake since 5:00am Saturday and we just finished up the project at 6:30am.

I was tired on the (monotonous) drive home, but for some reason now I'm wide awake and can't sleep....

That’s how those things go. You may be able to get a bit of a cat nap at one point but it won’t feel like a good nights sleep.
Cheers

I have to use Cubase pro of the files import with some latency...
That sounds kinda weird….I’ve run into some cross-platform glitches before, but not “latency” issues…as long as the source file is a time stamped WAV file, things should go where they belong…there are settings in Reaper that deal with latency compensation, others that can be used to import files to time stamp…that’s a SMPTE thing…weird. I wonder where the issue actually is…

I can import Cubase Pro or Pro Tools files into Audacity, but it doesn't work the other way around.

I had to buy a super computer for home that will support Cubase pro so I am able to work from home and share files back and forth with zero issues. I have just about phased out my home use of Audacity, except for the songs that I have already recorded.

So anyways, put 3" lowering blocks on rear..radical transformation in the handling, stock sporties are up way too high for my height & center of gravitity is unfavorable & at my weight, dont even compress the suspension, now it i can lean it in corners way better..

So, in trying to trim our monthly bills I am switching my phone off ATT and trying Puretalk.
I now have the unlock code from ATT and should have the Puretalk sim in a few days.

I signed up for one of those old folks groups and got a discounted plan: $20./mo. unlimited text and talk, 2GB data.
The wife and I hardly use any data. It is on ATT network which works well here in NJ.

I will be the test dummy (not much of a stretch there), and if it is satisfactory my wife will will come over, and we will jettison the extra payload of paying for our 2 adult children's phone plans.

Still have not decided on what direction to go in dropping TV through Concast; gotta slay on dragon at a time.

I don't watch a whole lot of TV and even when I did I refused to pay Comcast's ridiculous prices. If you have a smart TV, just pay a monthly subscription to a streaming service and choose what you want to watch. If you don't have a smart TV, just buy a Roku. The 1st month is free and then it's a considerably lower payment. If you decide you don't like it you can just cancel your subscription. It's much easier than pushing 1 for English, 2 for Spanish & 3 for alien, being put on hold for half an hour, then transferred four times, only to be overcharged. Do yourself a favor!

We just did the same, but with Spectrum. We get our internet and TV from them and they have a cell plan now. It uses the Verizon network, which we were already on.

It's $15 a month per phone no other taxes or fees. Unlimited text and talk and 1GB of data. Additional GB of data is $14. If you see yourself coming close to 4GB you
can change your plan online to unlimited data for $45 per line to avoid any charges over $45.

We don't use hardly any data because we use WIFI anytime it's available...

We have a Roku and Netflix, and do use it some.
I'm ready to go with that and add Discovery Plus; my wife cant seem to let go yet.
She wants to; she cusses about the phone and cable bills more than I do.
