So Anyway...

So anyway, I am heading out in a little bit to retrieve irreplaceable items from the cabin and shoot some more video in case I need it for insurance purposes. The area has been evacuated, but homeowners can still get in to retrieve stuff. I will try to check back in this evening. I can rebuild the house. I'm more concerned with losing the trees. They won't be full grown again in my lifetime.

So anyway,

I'm at the end of my driveway. That's where the state highway is closed and and all that cloudy stuff in the sky is smoke. I got pictures and video of everything for insurance. I also saved the DSL1HR, my pine 212, my Monty Python kniggits and the killer bunny. Oh, and the guns. All of the guns.

Everything is fine right now. The fire has grown to 4,000 acres and is 9 miles to the west. It is drier than crap up there. I'm talking crunchy grass. They aren't expecting containment until September 1 at the earliest, so anything could happen at this point.

Actually, it wouldn't be terrible if it burned down. I have $170k on the building itself and $120k on personal property. I have enough "stuff" up there to easily hit the dollar values and build a bigger and better house. Still, losing the trees would suck.

It's how my family stays in touch easily. My elderly relatives enjoy staying updated and it gives them something to do. I have deleted over half of the people I had on there. Eventually, it will be only family & real life friends.

Ditto.

Lots of TTR-philes on FB. Find me!!!!
