Right!!!

There's series/parallel switching in 3 switch positions, which is more of a volume change, than anything else, then out of phase on both pickups, coil splits on both pickups, individually and in pairs, then then when all 4 switches are pulled up, it disables the selector switch, brings both pickups online out of phase and routes the output of the bridge into the input of the neck to create what is called "The Megabucker."

This is a very loud, bright out of phase tone.
 
That's way too complicated for me, lol. And btw I should have said the PlanetTone pickups sound great earlier when I said the Afterburner sounded good. I can't tell where it's just the bridge pickup that's on. I'd love to hear the Afterburner doing some hard rock rhythm. I'll be buying another PlanetTone pickup soon.

I might record something else tonight on just the Afterburner for comparison.

Didn't have any "goof around" time last night, but the very first passage in the recording is just the Afterburner Bridge.
 
Observations: The Afterburner has a more "cultured" tone and it's smoother and rounder at all frequencies, yet super clear and defined.

It's a little quieter (from an output standpoint) but when you move it toward the strings for more output, it doesn't lose clarity - and these PlanetTone's are the only humbuckers I have that behave that way.

Currently, I have my pole pieces adjusted on all my guitars like this:

Both my Afterburner and the Special 59 'E' string screw pole pieces are set at 4/64" from the bottom of the strings, when fretted at the 22nd.

On my YelloStrat, with the custom made DiMarzio Neanderthal 16.5k AlNico9 44awg humbucker (and pole pieces adjusted the same way) the 'E' string screw pole pieces are 12/64" from the bottom of the strings. I do not tilt any of my pickups lower on one side than the other.

On the Artec Screw Pole Piece Hum Canceling Single Coils, they are moved right up to 4/64" to get a good balance with the Humbucker.

Some say that's too close, as 4/64" is 1.58mm, but Gibson actually recommends (and has done so for years and in writing) setting their bridge humbuckers to 1.6mm

I played around with pickup heights for quite some time, but this is where each guitar sounded the most clear and defined...
