The studios own all of them. I get to play all the rare and exotics...but truth be told, the amp sims sound better and are faster. Faster is better when you are burning studio time. You have hundreds of amps, cabs and effects at your fingertips.

You know, its ironic....
When I'm sitting in the lounge at Capitol, and I'm surrounded by Grammy winning artists and producers, amps and guitars are never a discussion topic.
It's always about RC cars, hummingbirds, restaurants, vacation getaways, hot peppers, grandchildren and coffee.
Wonder why???

probably the same reason we dont discus paint machine flow rates-- hp of ride on machines or viscosity of seal coat product in the parking lots while we work....we discuss....well ..
restaurants/food -- beer-- pets-- sports-- hover boards (several crew mwmbers use them on the job) .....vacations........ girls......
might be because the TOOLS are just that ....TOOLS-- things you USE doing a job ..... while your having a life

Grammy winning artists and producers....
They know how to add handclaps. Ask for more auto tune, and if you hand them a guitar, they look like this:
LOL, maybe that's a part of it..
But, I think my point was that they are not as enamored by the price of an amp, but more by what they have growing in their garden.
In all my seven years in this industry, I've never heard a single demeaning comment, a put down or a word of discouragement from members of this fraternity.
I find it to be a very comfortable world to be a part of.
