If you like pets...

To top off a really crappy couple of weeks, Loki the one eyed wonder kitty passed away this week. Of all the cats my wife has brought home as part of her trap/spay-neuter/release program (released in the dining room), he was in my top four. He was a very inquisitive cat, who was completely amused with the world around him. He had managed to live what seemed like 99 lives, as he was always in the emergency room of the animal hospital for doing stuff like pulling his catheter out when he was at the vet for something else. He lost one of his eyes due to a melanoma a few years ago. For a feral cat trapped at JFK airport in NYC, he was quite the affectionate boy, loved to play, and also loved Bombay Sapphire and tonic, and Bloody Marys. You could never turn your back on a mixed drink with him around. He also loved wrestling catnip plants every time that I would try to grow it for them. When I called the vet to have him put down, he was still swatting one of the cats he didn't like, even though he was too weak to get off the floor. He died on the way to the vet as I was telling him how awesome he is. I'm kind of glad he went before we got there. It would have been tough for me to hold him as he was going to Valhalla. He was such a pain in the butt at times, and I really miss him being a little jerk. There was never a cat more deserving of the name Loki, and I hit it when I named him. He really was a sweet cat, and the house seems empty without him even though there are a few more cats still here.

I’m so sorry to see this John. Safe journey to Loki…may he find Valhalla, and leave his mark there, as he did here.
To Loki….Skol.

I am very sorry for your loss brother

If you like pets... you know cats have a book somewhere--

A step by step guide on how to wake up your human:
1) Repeatedly jump up on the bed from every possible angle.
2) Make sure they are still breathing by placing cold nose & tickley whiskers on their face.
3) A gentle head butt to the forehead causes some stirring.
4) Take a break & chase each other across the bed, aka the Zoomie Method.
5) The human may be unconscious or worse yet, ignoring you. Walk across their head no less than 3 times until you hear "Saturday."
6) Repeat steps 1-5
7) Rub yourself across the human while purring. Don't forget to put your butt in their face. By now they will have to move their arms or see your butt.
8) The situation is getting dire. A little adrenaline boost for the human is required. Chew on their phone cord because we hate the phone anyway.
9) In an emergency, chew on & crinkle plastic bags. Stop for a bit. Chew again. Repeat several times. It's working if they yell your name. They have no choice but to vacate the bed & chase you. It's fun to run away from them with the bag in your mouth.
10) Congratulations! Your human is awake! Now ignore them completely & sleep in your favorite spot!
BUT IT'S SATURDAY!!! :BH:

THis little addition is helping with the laundry chores

some may remember the Misses rescued her from the front of a convenience store where a guy was REPEATEDLY kicking/shuffling /////SLIDING her along the CEMENT to keep her from getting in the store....

Her "road rash" on her head and nose is about gone....and her cold is gone as well. she is doing JUST GREAT -- typical spunky little kitten now

Am I seeing that right? Is that small horse tethered to the wheelbarrow?

actually that small horse....(isnt hims cute?) is asleep under my desk with his head on my foot at the moment ..........his 100lb daughter is in front of the office door and the 90 lb lab (Murphy ) is beside me............2 rat terriers and 3 chihuahuas are on (constant) guard in the living room ready to BARK at any thing ( a leaf .... a bug....an intruder--like tiny little wacked out meth heads them things are -- ALWAYS nervous---) that MIGHT be n issue---whcih causes the large "muscle" side of the pack to mobilize and murder any moving thing .............(also knock over couches... chairs... small children....large children etc. ) ........... as ive said before do NOT break into my house .....unless you fancy being a chew toy and or dead.

to be clear it might have to do with the fact GIANT MAN EATERS roam the property contributes to the OVERALL nervousness of the smaller snack sized dogs......not sure .... though they all seem to get along at this point. ..........further research maybe required.............

Am I seeing that right? Is that small horse tethered to the wheelbarrow?
also no the wheel barrow is too LIGHT---- we tie him to the Ford F-150 and let him pull it around the yard ............................... (we also have several OLD TIRES that he and Athena "play" with .........not kidding on the tires)

Look up Anatolian Shepherds ................they, can "bite" ......we had to install "safety" signs around the property

for insurance purposes .........they are amazing companions.......but really...... we should meet at the pub.....dont stop by the house when your in Florida ;)
