I’m so sorry to see this John. Safe journey to Loki…may he find Valhalla, and leave his mark there, as he did here.To top off a really crappy couple of weeks, Loki the one eyed wonder kitty passed away this week. Of all the cats my wife has brought home as part of her trap/spay-neuter/release program (released in the dining room), he was in my top four. He was a very inquisitive cat, who was completely amused with the world around him. He had managed to live what seemed like 99 lives, as he was always in the emergency room of the animal hospital for doing stuff like pulling his catheter out when he was at the vet for something else. He lost one of his eyes due to a melanoma a few years ago. For a feral cat trapped at JFK airport in NYC, he was quite the affectionate boy, loved to play, and also loved Bombay Sapphire ant tonic, and Bloody Marys. You could never turn your back on a mixed drink with him around. He also loved wrestling catnip plants every time that I would try to grow it for them. When I called the vet to have him put down, he was still swatting one of the cats he didn't like, even though he was too week to get off the floor. He died on the way to the vet as I was telling him how awesome he is. I'm kind of glad he went before we got there. It would have been tough for me to hold him as he was going to Valhalla. He was such a pain in the butt at times, and I really miss him being a little jerk. There was never a cat more deserving of the name Loki, and I hit it when I named him. He really was a sweet cat, and the house seems empty without him even though there are a few more cats still here.
