Would you buy a Les Paul from Sweetwater?

GAS is about to get the best of me. I've been thinking about a "good" LP for a while now. Today I was nosing around Sweetwaters web site and came across this and I didn't even know they made these. My GAS meter pegged when I saw it! There's nowhere around that has one in stock that I could go and play so I would be buying on line if I want one. I've heard nothing but great things about Sweetwater, but I'm afraid to buy a guitar without being able to check it out and play it first, especially for that kind of cash. Would you do it?

I would wait until they get a few to choose from in stock. But if the specs are in your wheelhouse…and they have a few to choose from…and you can not find one to try locally….yeah.

I didn't realize they are a new model and aren't in stock yet so that's a good thing. Maybe some will come up locally that I can play before I buy. Plus that gives me time to sell a few things.

I have bought a Les Paul from them. They are absolutely great to deal with, but I would prefer they not attempt their 'million point inspection' if I ever got one there again. It's a bit of a joke and the guitar didn't come set up any better than right out of the box from Gibson, but it did have somebody's mitt prints on it and a set of D'Addario strings, so I know they changed those out. You'll still have to adjust to your liking.

Anyway, yeah, I am pretty stoked about the new Deluxe but I am pretty bummed that they didn't give it a maple neck. Therefore, although I am fairly certain it will be my next guitar I really must play one first to see if its close enough to the Deluxes I remember with a hog neck. If you do pick one up report back, would be great to hear what people are thinking of them.

Steve - I got this LP Tribute from Sweetwater. Perfect and totally playable right out of the box.

I would check when they have the guitar in stock. And find out how heavy it is.

Found this one in stock

They have no weight relief so I imagine they are heavy. Doesn't matter, with my neck issues I'll never play standing up again anyway.

I do wish they had the maple neck, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Have bought a fair bit from Sweetwater. Only one guitar though. A Strat. To date, haven’t had an issue.

Edit: I have had a couple issues with the guitar. A Fender issue and not Sweetwater. Well after warranty. Had the neck pup fail. Had a tone pot fail. Upgraded all 3 pups to aftermarket. Same for all 3 pots. It was already a decent guitar. Now it’s an awesome guitar.
