I Travel Highway 61 Frequently

Gee whiz boys and girls. Somehow missed this thread way back when. And since it’s come back to life….. Rt 61 passed close to where I used to live. Passed thru Davenport IA. Muscatine….. Burlington. If memory serves, you can follow it south and it’ll take you thru Hannibal MO. The Iowa stretch to MO is about the only part I’ve driven. In my part of the world, we all knew it passed thru Mt. Joy Iowa…. Population (1) “Gentleman’s Club” where Iowa law at the time stated it had to be a BYOB for the entertainers to do what the gentleman were there to see. And no. I did not visit. It was a scary place.

I don't know why that map Col Mustard posted doesn't show all of hiway 61. It keeps going to Duluth and all the way up the north shore of Lake Superior to the Canadian border. You can see the water most of the way. It's very rocky too. There are a couple of tunnels and there was a lot of blasting to get the road done.

It should be the one that gets you to Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Yeah, if I miss the Les Paul exit, I’ll end up in the laundry neighborhood, too.
I don't have the laundry issue, but I do have two flights of stairs. Morning rush hour can get pretty bad with the boys trying to beat me to the cave. Kinda like being in L.A. traffic and they are on little sport bikes splitting lanes.
