I'll probably regret posting this down the road, but here we go. I'm thinking about building a stripped down amp to run as a slave unit off of the loop in my DSL. I'm currently using my 50 watt jcm900 taking the second out on a mxr 10 band into the loop return. This seems like a waste of the amp and only the master volumes and presence work in this configuration.
I want to take a 2204 circuit and eliminate everything before the loop. So, on the front I would have power, standby, volume, presence and maybe a resonance control. The back would have a pair of speaker jacks, voltage selector, impedance selector, loop return and a loop send if I can for additional units.

Here's the diagram I'm looking at.
My question is can I just eliminate everything on the board before the dual can cap and change that to a single 50? Also eliminating v1, v2, all tone controls, gain and input jacks. Having a half power switch would be cool. I would eliminate the bias test points as well as I have one of the VHT meters and that has dual test points if I want to check it against my DVOM.
Thoughts? I think it would be fun.
