SO MANY IGNORE OR WRITE THEM OFF ............ amazing talents..... timeless music
I do like the Dead, but it's - you like them or you hate them. There's a lot of people who don't like the Dead.
They just don't get it.
At one time, they were the top draw act in the USA.
I like Terrapin Station and American Beauty...
the "old" American Beauty, before the songs were edited, before Casey Jones was removed from the album.

It was never on American Beauty. It was on Workingman’s Dead.

Probably heresy, but I always thought that Bobby was the more creative guitarist. I’ve never seen anyone play as many inversions of chords as he does.

I had for some reason, a copy of American Beauty that had Casey Jones and Uncle Johns band on the album.
I played it to death.
This was a very early release, and I remember that the later albums were not the same.
But I do remember that Uncle John's band was the first song on side 2.

I got my copy in the late seventies. This is the track listing from my album cover. “Uncle John’s Band" was always the first song on Workingman’s Dead. Maybe your copy was a promo release. Both were released about four months from each other. Workingman’s in June of 1970, and Beauty in November.
