So my trash neighbor has still refused to do anything about the rat infestation at his home. In fact, its worse now than ever, as i have witnessed rats entering both his dryer vents and the side panel of his window AC unit. His yard literally bounces with them but now, they have spread to my yard despite setting spring traps, glue traps, poison and rat deterrent spray along my property.
As of this very moment, the farthest they've came is up on my back porch but that is way too close for comfort ( as well as going around my kid's new swing set). I have called the county health department 4 times, demanded an inspector but each time have gotten nothing, despite today being promised one would come by. I called Orkin and they were supposed to be here and instead pushed me back until Wednesday. I just called Terminix and I'm supposed to have someone out first thing in the morning.
I've even called the DHHR and reported this to Adult Protective Services due to him allegedly being so incapable of doing anything for himself (including bathing, mowing his lawn or carrying out garbage). I mentioned the fact he is allegedly disabled and random people are waiting at his house during pharmacy drop offs, collecting his pills that he's issued. I mentioned the trash, the rats and even his rotted roof with birds flying in. They are supposed to be conducting a welfare check.
But the question is: has ANY of you ever dealt with some ridiculous bull poop like this? If so, what did you do? Ive read where i can take him to small claims court if i have to bring in rodent control that's directly caused by his lack of maintenance and hygiene. So from a legal standpoint, i know we got a few here that might be able to chime in? ( @RVA , im looking your way lol)
This is now a living hell and honestly i dont know what to do. I really just wanna torch this house and abandon the entire property
