My LP Has Been Invaded by Those Noisy Gremlins (Solved!: Post #43)

SOLVED! But I had to cheat... :hide:

I gave the output jack a closer look while installed in the guitar. Using a mirror, I could clearly see what the connected jack looks like in its cavity. The connection to the tip-lug and the lug itself is extremely close to the cavity wall surrounding the jack. I bent inwards the lug and reconnected the wiring, but this time I added some heat shrink tubing to cover the connection to the jack's tip lug. So did this finally resolved the issue? Ha ha... NO!!

So, I cheated...: I shielded the output jack's cavity wall plus the plastic plate that supports the jack with some copper tape. The copper tape is grounded because the jack is grounded. Anyways... Voila! It's all good now and I think I'm through with obsessing with this stupid crisis I conjured up. Still kind of irks me that I could not figure out why my LP began to gradually develop that buzzing noise. I think that @Ramo 's Tele-curse mutated into my LP... o_O

Pics of the final fiasco to come.

Thanks to y'all for sticking with me with good advise and humor...

The reason why that happened is, because of your endless taunt of tele radios at me finally thrash gods punished you. if you carry on it will get worse just ask @Clockworkmike he can confirm....

I was looking forward to your review of the new Classic 57 pickups...
The set of '57 Classics is the original pickups that came with my '05 R9 that I bought used in 2014. I really really like these vintage-style pups in this guitar. Neck & Bridge dcr: 7.8k-ish & 8.0k-ish. A2 magnets.

That said, the GAS Gods have called upon me to order up a set of Wolfetone's. The neck pup shall be their Dr. Vintage (7.5k, A2 magnet), the bridge pup shall be their Marshallhead (9k & a request for an A2 magnet instead of the A5 mag)

Source of magnetic field and switching power supply such as fluorescent light, solar energy system, house wiring, computer system UPS.
Which is why the inside of the guitar needs to be shielded.

You can hook the PU straight to the jack, is the noise still there?
Shut off all power circuits in the house, except the one you are using. Is the noise still there?
Disconnect cable TV from the entire house. Is the noise still there?

An UN-shielded guitar can pick up all types of noise from external magnetic fields.

This is all very true, but my point was that my LP developed the extra buzzing within the last year, yet all my other guitars remain the same. My noisiest guitars are the ones with true single coil pickups: Fender-style, Melody Maker-style, and P90s. But my LP became noisier than the single coil guitars.

"You can hook the PU straight to the jack, is the noise still there?":
Last night, I was going to try this as you suggested (Thanks...) but I gambled on my cheating excursion instead. I'm going to replace the original pickups anyways and don't plan on removing the new shielding.

I knew it.

The leaping tele playing lady and the 2nd pic - are they both the same person? Or...
Is the first one Samantha Fish?
I've seen her playing slide on cigar box guitars.
