Friedman flop?

I don't know anything about this guy as it is the first review of his I have watched. I agree with gball, though. If you don't like it, return it and move on. There is no need to badmouth the amp just because you didn't like it. There are probably hundreds of folks who will like it.

He was bitching about the tubes before even hearing the amp and indicated he was going to change them. He was biased (pun intended) against the amp before he even played it. I do agree that the bit of hand soldering looked a bit sketchy and there appeared to be a melted section on one component but not the tragedy he made it out to be.

He could have chosen to contact Dave personally, and Dave would have made it right. Defects happen sometimes, maybe it was a hungover Monday morning model or something, but Dave would have made it right. It's just a half hour rant over sour grapes.

Here's some gutshots of someone else's JJ Jr.,

I haven't opened my own JJ Jr yet but so far it's the best sounding amp I've had.

No.
Just no.
I've addressed this on another forum already.

It's not unusual for a switch to be glued in with RTV (if the hole is slightly oversized).
You would see that in imported amps sometimes when they run out of the original sized switches.

It's not unusual for a part on the board to be heat damaged by a soldering error...
But we don't know for sure that this was damaged at the factory. It may have been serviced outside the factory.

But those 2 mostly minor things do not constitute "the worse amp ever."
There is amps way worse than that.

That the amp is "JJ," and it's not a JJ amp.
JJ manufactures it's own tube amps.
So he should call the amp something else by an original name, and stop using "JJ".
This is a real JJ amp.

ANyone heard how Friedman and others made out after the fire?
Dave Friedman has also now posted on Instagram stating that the warehouse was empty, yet the smoke and water damage has yet to be assessed. Hopefully, the businesses involved will be okay and thankfully nobody was seriously hurt during the blaze.

Friedman users group, etc...

Tech1: see, I told you it was biased WAY too hot!
Tech2: :ohno:
Jokes aside, glad no one was hurt.

I guess that dude was really unhappy with his purchase......
Sorry, I should not speculate; arson is a serious thing.

I wonder where he was on the night in question?
Just saying......
