I traded the Maybach for this today:
This is a Gibson Midtown Kalamazoo. Supposedly one of 600 made. All original with splittable humbuckers and locking tuners. I had $1180, or $1280 (can't remember) in the guitar I traded, so financially I don't think I did too bad.

This is somewhat odd, like an ES 135 with a shorter scale length.

I wouldn't call it a jazz guitar. It's thin, like an ES135 and is only semi hollow.

Yeah, that's what they intended. The real Byrdland is quite different though. Thicker body and if I'm not mistaken it's a true hollow body?

Yeah, quite a bit wider. Both over the shoulders and the hips.

Yeah, I'm enjoying it, it sounds great both with the full humbuckers and with the coils split. The shorter scale length does take some getting used to, especially in the upper frets where it starts to feel a bit cramped. It may look like a sweet little jazzer but it can produce some serious rocker tonezez. Being a semi hollow with a center block should help prevent some feedback too.

the thinner body to ME is a selling point I dont like the big fat jazzers I mean I like the look and tone but playing them....... nope--- the GROTE is uber thin (like les paul width-- comfortable) and fool hollow body (2 big selling points) and is one of my favorite "F" hole jazzer guitars ever

Yep, thats pretty tight. I have a hard time with licks at the top end of a 24"

I just have a hard time playing licks on ANY scale length!
