I have to agree. I was quite happy with GarageBand on my Mac Mini. Then all of a sudden with no warning it was out of support and wouldn't update. Then a new version of GarageBand came out and I couldn't install it because my MacOS was too old. I switched to my MacBook Air and it was fine. Then I couldn't install the latest OS update because my hard drive was full. I had to wipe the drive and do a clean install of the OS. By the time I had Office and other programs I need for work installed I was getting low on hard drive space again. That is when I switched to a ten year old HP laptop that was very high end for it's time with an i7 CPU and 16 GB of RAM. I wiped it clean, installed Windows 10 and Reaper and have never looked back.

There is a freeware driver called ASIO4ALL that acts as a wrapper for audio devices and makes them all run under one driver in a DAW. The real benefit of it was the ultra low latency it offered over the Windows native audio system, but I guess it does what youre talking about as well, I just havent needed to use it in a long time since my devices have native ASIO drivers to begin wi5h.

ASIO4ALL hasn't worked like that for a long time and as a driver it sucks munkyballs.

Lucky you. I've been fighting with the bag of :poo: for a couple of years. I see they just updated it for the first time since 2017, perhaps that's why. As for being sorry I couldn't care less. I gave up and bought something that didn't need it some time ago.

You're in luck: The current 90W Mark 5's Yellow Channel, Mode 3, is a Mark 1 circuit.
Of course, a Mark 5 head is something like $2,600, but you can hit the Mesa/Boogie Hollywood store and try one out, and those guys will let you crank it.

I certainly wouldnt say its not exciting. Its definitely no frills and as pure as the driven snow as far as signal path, but its the style, aggression and in-your-face bombastic attack that makes his tone loved. It seems so simple on paper but no one else does it like that with the same equipment.

But truthfully, the heart and soul of the AC/DC sound was never Angus but Malcolm and that old beat up Gretsch. There's some recordings around the Back In Black era where he used a White Falcon and you can hear the difference, its good but its missing something, hence why shortly after he went back to the Duo Jet.
