Guitar dealers?

My Ovation acoustic came from a mom and pop store in Galesburg Illinois. In 1974. Didn’t buy another guitar till 2009 when I bought the G400. Followed by the Tele clone. And then the Hagstrom. All three of those came off flee bay. Figured I was done till I saw that blue Strat at Sweetwater. I was weak. It came home to live with its other siblings.

i have only one more to build.
strat with 22 scalloped fretboard, ss frets, floyd rose, and a buelwei.

I have:
1 Mars Music
1 Ebay
1 Reverb
1 Sweetwater
2 Zzounds
1 Musicians Friend/Warmoth
1 Warmoth
2 incoming from Lavonne's in Savage, MN which is my local small shop that has been around since the late '60's. I pretty much have to order everything being a lefty. Since nobody is stocking the 2 I currently wanted, the price and time would be the same regardless. Plus everyone charges sales tax now, so I would rather give the money to people I know and can go see.

Our local store is one of the large Long and McQuade chain. Lots of buying power, lots of stcok, you can try things, see it, fondle it, take it home, return it. Even ordering guitars in can be returned. Never had a problem at all, highly recommend to any of the Canukian members.

:giggle:
Have to agree. I’ve bought a lot of gear from L&M over the years. They stand behind their product and they have a very good selection in stock. They own Traynor and Yorkville. They distribute Gibson, Epiphone, and their related brands in Canada so it’s pretty hard for other stores to compete with them. A friend bought a $4,000 Les Paul. A year later he noticed a small flaw in the finish on the neck. They tried to fix it but he wasn’t satisfied so they special ordered another identical guitar from Gibson and traded him straight across. They offer warranty on used product and the warranty covers commercial use. For a chain they are very good.

Nice. They have a few in stock that are out at most other places that I know.
Saved to favorites. thanks
Most likely. They also have some fairly old ones. Stats and LPs..... I saw one of their really old LPs on their web site several years ago. Asking 6 figures.

A lot of my guitar buys are from Zzounds and never had a bad experience... ok so my last Jackson was on backorder and i had to wait for 3-4 months but it was a brand new signature around December (boy was it worth the wait...). my 5 string bass was from musician's friend. Then again, keep in mind im not really picky about neck size unless it has to deal with 7 strings, then i just look for keywords like "Slim neck" and then its good enough for me. i

Wow that's amazing!!
I like that Yorkville is made for them directly. High quality made in Canada equipment at a decent price. No really cheap Asian made products there. Amd it is supporting local business.

Where does everyone get their guitars from?

There are 100's of guitars that come thru this forum,.(or more) I'm very curious where they are purchased.
I'm sure private market is in the equation, we all do that. But new guitars are different.

When I was a kid there was a list of small shops that I would go to with my mom and brother. They're all gone. I will never buy a guitar from GC, and I'm even sour with Sweetwater. I really only know one place, and he only sells Ibanez(there's a surprise)

So, unless it's a secret, how about sharing some info so I can go shopping. Thanks.

I get my best deals on TGP and a few on Reverb.

I have a few for sale right now...what are you looking for?

Fer real??

Those are great. That seafoam green one looks sweet. Love the contrast with the dark neck. Real nice job.
I couldnt afford a RICKI so I built one ;)
THE KRAKEN ...... is a rough and rowdy beastie .................

I had intended to change out the neck pup for a REAL Rick one -- but it sounds friggin HUGE and LOUD ....and so....... I left it ;)
