Speaker, change or not to change (selling/buying)

So, I have this amp with an old alnico speaker in it. The speaker had a fair size tear that was repaired and the cone was lightly sprayed with flat black to even everything out. To be honest I think it sounds better after the repair. But, a repair is a repair and I thinking about selling/trading the amp off. It's a no name home brew amp I got, but a nice one. I do have a Bulgera and an older Crate speaker I could put in it. Both are the appropriate impedance and wattage.

Here's my question for you and what I'm looking for opinions on. Would you leave the old repaired speaker in it and sell/trade it that way? Or, would you put one of the other two speakers in it before selling/trading it. And, if you think one of the two replacement speakers, do you have a preference on which one?

Looking for forward to your thoughts...

I think we need more rum drinks to truly investigate the possibilities of which speaker to include in this build

Are saying that there should be a meeting of robes and white russians to consider the full implications at hand?

well.......yes but we need ot find the proper RUG before we can have any sort of synergy in the room

I would likely sell it with the old speaker in it UNLESS I wanted that speaker better than one of the new ones I could swap in there.

Sir flintstone, Me too, As a matter of fact, I would go one to attend a high school with a girl ( who liked me) but I did not like her that way, and her brother. Later as an adult I found out their dad, an advertising man, was responsible for that ad. Genius if you ask me.

What do you think about my advice on your speaker?

No

PICK the speaker YOU like least---- and put it in the "for sale" amp ---- when (if) someone asks ABOUT the speaker tell em whats in it--- BUT that for a little more $$$ I have a Bugera speaker I can install for you........called UP selling ;)

hook em first ---- if they take the cheapo speaker GREAT--- if they take the upgrade GREATER!

Say Tony--- I got this bridge in NY I am looking to move-----PM me your bank account number and I will mail you the dead ;)

Tony, I did both. Added a little entertainment and then my advice.

I think that sounds like a good plan. And, I actually like the old tore up repaired speaker myself (and it's from like the 50's type thing), so I am going to put another speaker in it. All I have into the bugera speaker is a couple of cheap guitar stands I traded for it. Basically I have a cheap guitar bag into the other speaker, which I traded for too.

I'm all for fun stuff, light hearted comments, etc. Sure beats the pissing your panties over everything attitude some have - lol...

I've played a couple amps with Warehouse speakers in them. Warehouse speakers, to me, hold their tone and vibe with the best of them. Can't go wrong with Green Backs for sure. This whole thread because I asked my wife and a friend and they suggested two different things - lol - so, I figured l'd see how many points of view would come up here. I've got an old alnico 15" just sitting in a box too. I scooped it up because it looks like it was made yesterday instead of being and antique speaker. One day I'm hoping to put it in a little tube amp for the whole blues thing or maybe a little single 15 bass tube amp.
