IMHO---- the difference was negligible.....I really liked the way he did the comparison.....very seamless well done
Wow, that sure takes the pressure off of tweaking your guitar! You know I think the couple hundred concerts at 110dB or higher must have destroyed my ears because I can't hear any difference at all in most of the examples. Near the end I hear a slight difference in the distortion clip...
I would like to mention that I have heard a recent Neil Young interview. I was not particularly impressed with his analytical skills!Neil Young LOL that's all I'm saying here LOL
It could be the tonewoods. There are differences for sure but to me (taking into account all the Humbucker vs p90 arguments) not THAT huge a difference and certainly not one a few "fiddles" with the amp knobs wouldnt negate....
I have P90s....humbuckers (covered and uncoverd) and SUPERFERRITE PEavey one offs (basically a fat P90 with a rale instead of individual poles)
And given a minute or two to fiddle with knobs I can make them all sound VERY different or very similar
actually its the horribly THICK lacquer on the white one that is throwing the whole test off......if your going to compare the wood should be prepared the same way......and the cream colored switch surround......totally throws off the tonal camber of the P90 pups as heard through the auditory spectrumNeil Young LOL that's all I'm saying here LOL
