After very aggressive "slur" sanding on top (see video in prior post) and first coat on back. The top texture is MUCH smoother than it was, which should contribute to a glossy finish

Thanks! I think the spalt is quite interesting with the tru-oil. Stain and tru-oil would have been too much. I thought it may have had more character with just naptha, but it was bound to darken with the tru-oil. The other option would have been a light stain with poly or nitro to keep it lighter, but I like the natural character that is emerging

It is nice to have options...until you can't decide! Which neck do you think looks better?

BTW, I shaped the headstock on the maple board neck - I was going for a look between tele and strat - and I cannot decide how I feel about that either - so indecisive!!

I think I like the rosewood "Aesthetically" it FLOWS the darker color of the body and extends the mojo through the neck

I like the dark fretboard too. It almost looks too dark for rosewood... Is it?
