Guess what?

Part #POT-TR22K

I'm not sure what shipping might be for delivery in your neck of the woods, but I got mine from here. I got a couple extra just in case. They were only 3 and a half bugerland bux
It's 3$50. It's expensive for me plus shipping. I hope I can find affordable ones. It's a cheap cost part. Let's see. I want 4. Because I'll want replace It from a friend '03 TSL100 too.

I cleaned It. It works but I'll replace It anyway.View attachment 64798

The pots go bad when high voltage DC leaks into the bias circuit.
(defect main board)
It fries the wiper of the pot, and then the bias is disabled.
That's when the tube red plates.

The pots also go bad from oxide forming inside the pot.

But I would suggest that if you have a DSL TSL 50 or 100:
that you replace the pots.

I can't understand why they designed the bias adjust this way....
I can't fathom why they used such cheap pots.

Anyhow:
If you have replaced the main circuit board or if you installed the Dr. Tube steady bias mod...
You should also change the pots too.

I never had replaced the pots on my '98 TSL100 but I replaced main circuit. On the '03 TSL100 from a friend was replaced main board as well but no the bias trim pots. I will replaced on both TSL100.

Good news :). I found It in UK. About 1$4 each one. I bought 4. Total cost 10€. I think that by not exceeding 15€ I will not have to pay Customs taxes. Let's see when It arrives.

What's the latest???

I'm hoping you get it fixed...but I wouldn't mind having it if it ends up in the trash again.
AMS has sent the pot board back in the mail, should arrive sometime this week, and then I can continue the saga

I'm confident that it will be a good amp, but if for some reason or another it's finding it's way to the trash again, I'll let you know

Brand new resistor at R6, and a very professionally done bias board.
Now I get to start plugging connections back in and reassembling everything.
Huge thanks, @Amp Mad Scientist !!!

OK
start doing your tests between pin 4 and 5 with the ohm meter, no power connected.
You can do that from the top of the chassis, no need to measure from the inside.
(the pin numbers are usually stamped on the socket)
Then tell us what the ohm readings are for the output socket pins 4/5.
