As much as I love "chugging," it seems that the beloved tones do not come naturally to me.

I do love all kinds of heavy rock and thrash, but I seem to kind of naturally come back to this type of arrangement and tone...

This band is pretty tame, but I stay because of the good people and the income.

Would love something heavier though!!!!

I never was a big fan of the Dual Rectifiers to be honest. They can sound killer at times and ive heard guitarists I like do amazing things with them , but they are lacking in the mids department and plus the earlier models are notoriously unreliable. That and they are so closely aligned with the Nu Metal sound, that put me off and made me go to Marshall at the time of starting out DURING Nu Metal lol

I am like @Clockworkmike I am a Marshall man, I have heard Mesas up close and personal.
They have never been the sound in my head.
They work for some just not me !!

I've spent quite a bit of time with the Triple Rec. Still a Marshall guy, but I didn't totally hate it. Just had to dial it in a little differently.

I never had any gear, all i had was zoom and korg multi processors... DSL is the only amp i have tube or decent... well to gear snobs its budget one but for me it sounds great.

If you had two of them and ran them together, you could EQ the second amp to sound very close to the Mesa by hitting the deep switch, and turning down the presence, treble, mids, and going up with the bass, you may still have to put a blanket over the speaker cab though, just from what I remember with my buddies Mesa, with a 2204 next to it ..

I know origins and dsl are kicking ass but gear snobs put them down because its made overseas and considered budget....

I like my amp and im happy with it, thats all it matters and not what some bozo on internet says lol
