Well, if you ever decide you hate it, I'd be happy to take it off your hands. It's beautiful for sure!True the white Marshall looks like a polar bear in a snow storm, In my past I wanted a Red White and Purple Marshall's never did get the purple
but have the Red and White covered then reality sets in my Green Hornet amp does it all so well and the stages keep getting smaller
We have our first gig next month and Joe our bass player said he would move the Marshall is the only reason I dug it out.
I just scored a Mesa MK-3 100 watt combo parts are on the way to fix it see how it sounds with the Green Hornet.
The RFT EL34 is a great sounding tube, right up there with the best of them. It's common to hear the "don't exceed 450V plate voltage", but then we have people saying they've been running them in amps with a B+ of a little over 500VDC with no problem.
I can't comment as I've only ever used them in an (old Aussie made) amp with a B+ of 440V.
Werent they the stock tube in '80s era EL34 equipped Marshalls? Cheers
I might be confusing the RFT's with Siemens regarding the 80s era Marshalls, it's a little early in the morning yet. CheersI bought some because I heard that the JTMs liked German tubes, whether Siemens, Telefunken, or RFT. The RFTs were easiest on my wallet at the time.
They've been in for several years now, and I've had no problems.
As for original to '80s amps, I'm not so sure. Mine had Sovtech 5881s in it when it was new.
I had a brand new 1983 2203 in white. Stupidly sold it to fund the Jubilee in 1987.The RFT EL34 is a great sounding tube, right up there with the best of them. Nice. I like that Marshalls for the Canadian market retained the use of toggle switches rather than rocker switches. Speaking of GE branded EL34's, I have a duet I obtained NOS/NIB, Blackburn Mullard single halo getter xf2's rebranded as GE'sI had a brand new 1983 2203 in white. In any case, Polamp 12AX7s ( RFT) and GE EL34s. Canadian version.

Very desireable tubes, also now very rare. Cheers
I suspect you wanna ditch those to someone who... ahem... might...ah...want them..Nice. I like that Marshalls for the Canadian market retained the use of toggle switches rather than rocker switches. now serving in my '68 JMP50 clone. Cheers
If you have a matched "double halo getter" duet showing getter flashing in like condition, I'll trade you. I'll even accept dis-similar rebrands.I suspect you wanna ditch those to someone who... ahem... might...ah...want them..![]()

On the subject of "getter flashing" (the silver stuff deposited inside the glass envelope), I don't buy NOS valves from eBay, Reverb etc, but for anyone looking to, the getter flashing's condition can be a good indicator of how many hours use have accumulated on the tubes.
New tubes should show getter flashing like seen on the GE branded Mullards I posted a pic of earlier. Note the sharp edge of the flashing (& thin darkish band right at the edge of). Also a very solid silver colouring throughout the flashing.
By contrast, heres a pic of a couple of "used" Mullard xf3 (stapled plates) EL34's

These are currently for sale, expensively, on Reverb. Note the getter flashing (Barium) has been quite lessened through use, more so on the tube on the right. We could surmise that this is a "mix n match" duet, not pulls from the same piece of equipment (less hours on the tube on the left). Apologies for the derail. Cheers
