How to murder a $50/100,000 amp

Hard to image Henry is on over 350 LP's as far as Dumble's work bad example

Talented musicians, no questions asked. And the sound is fine. But for the money, i dont see or hear anything that couldn't be done for an insanely lot less budget. I guess its like bragging about horsepower from an import car that costs 6 figures and then finding a domestic that costs a quarter of that and it can do more lol

I see now...He’s just super artsy, and exploring new things....
”Concrete Nebula” is playing for me now...it’s got some funk, and has some of that machine playing on it...but it seems to work, in context, for the piece....I’m also hearing some e-bow use....

I have watched a lot of youtoob videos about Dumble Amps, and I don't get it either. I mean, they sound fine, but not one video made me think "HOLY :poo: I have to have that!" Actually none of them convinced me that they sound any better than my silver face Bassman (hand wired, and can be had for under $1,000), or any other decent amp.

This is not sour grapes. I am not just Dumble bashing because I can't afford one. There are amps I can't afford that I drool over... Like a Marshall MK II plexi, or bluesbreaker, or tweed Bassman, or a lot of black face Fenders.

I can't afford those amps, but they do make me think "HOLY :poo: I have to have that!" Dumble amps, on the other hand, seem pretty 'meh' to me.

Then there’s some “cable to amp“ action...
You're never gonna convince me. This is a guy who does not know how to play guitar, and he just makes noise and calls it "art".

He is the guitar equivalent to Yoko Ono.

I always hear how Dumbles are these allegedly godlike tone amplifiers. Well, here's Alexander Dumble sitting in with Henry Kaiser, sounding like stray kittens having their intestines ripped out by hungry mice. This is deconstructing the guitar at its finest. Enjoy

Sorry I can’t finish this one.
And yes I put the thumbs down..
Cheers

So no FX henry sounds like FX riddled Henry still? Well....least he has a distinguished sound i guess? Lol
I think that he may prefer the term “signature tone and style” maybe.... ;)
maybe not....who knows....the man is chaos incarnate.
Could you imagine a Henry/Yoko Ono collaboration album?

Alright....I’ll admit that Henry is not my cup...of anything.
But there are some that would say the same of...
Frank Zappa
Adrian Belew
Robert Fripp
Tony Levin
........
I would miss their contributions, immensely, if they were taken away.
The difference is that those guys can actually play their instruments. Quite well actually.

Totally agree there. I love eccentric, crazy musicians like all of those guys you named, even Tom Waits and his strangeness lol but they all had a way to bring it all together no matter how far off center they'd get sometimes. Theres always a rhythm somewhere in the mix to tie it down

I dont know if Henry understands a rhythm, least not any in this planet lol
