The new one looks nicer. Did the older one perform poorly?
That is a great feeling. And it is not a Tele. You just never know where you will find love!Since I put the new bone nut on, this guitar plays even better. The open strings ring better too. So now it may actually be the perfect guitar.

I replaced the stock nut on my G400 with a GraphTech nut. Wasn’t bone, but my experience was much the same as yours. Open strings just sounded better.Since I put the new bone nut on, this guitar plays even better. The open strings ring better too. So now it may actually be the perfect guitar.

I would play that every day.I'm catching up on this thread, and i see many peeps breaking out their old guitars.
So i decided to do a little picking on my '83 Stratocaster. I guess I've had it about 38 years now. Only a couple small dings, she's done well.
I remember plugging her in and sticking my Peavy studio pro in the window....then cranking the gain and letting some ugly notes rip, as the kids walked by to the school bus. I'm actually a little bit better at playing now.
Ok, I've played her....now I can send her back the case, and I won't feel so guilty for neglect.
