Dave Mustaine & the new Gibson Alliance...

I disagree, what he used to play looks way cooler than the crap he is going to play. And best metal record Rust in peace is made by '' inspired'' guitars.

Since that's a subjective matter (the looks of the guitars, not the record) you'll get no argument. What we can all agree on - I think - is that Mustaine is a monster player and I'll listen to him no matter what he's playing.

Most Megadeth fans agree with my argument, and yes he can play banjo and still write crushing riffs.

Oh, I agree with the assessment of the album as well. I'd like to hear him on that banjo actually.

Myself, i don't follow any guitar players. I play because i want to play, I don't try to copy anyone's style of playing, i play for myself and my audience, i have my own style, playing and singing . There are many great guitar players out there nobody has ever seen or heard. I wouldn't buy a guitar, just because some guy out there endorses it. I buy my guitars because i like the feel , sounds and quality of guitar, My guitars get rocked out, they don't sit on the wall or in a case collecting dust . The last thing on my mind is buying a guitar for resale value, They are meant to be played. What impresses me is individuals who can play guitar, like here on the Forum, and my friends , who are not known in the professional field.

I get that but, imagine how many kids get inspired by seeing kick ass guitar playing? And as a kid all you care about how cool it looks...

I can never play how my “hero’s” play but i do my thing and take inspiration from them.

Yeah, I play Les Pauls because I have tried everything and they just "do it" for me better than anything else, but of course it's perhaps the best-known endorsement guitar. There has to be some irony there somewhere.

My hero's, are those that save lives, people that truly care about people, Help someone out in a tough situation. Someone just buying someone they don't know a meal or a drink, those that volunteer their time. That's my definition of a Hero . My Life is much more than Idolizing individuals , its about me working on myself to be the best person i can be, and the Hero's that i have mentioned have the most impact and are the most inspiring to me..

Angus Young and Tony Iommi made me want an SG more than anything on this planet. When i scrapped my pesos together from child labor, i got my first Gibson which happened to be a 1996 SG standard. Still my #2 guitar today after being the #1 for a good 7-8 years. After that, i wanted something totally unique and nothing really anyone else was using or had. I found that in the 2003 Xplorer Pro and that became and remains my #1. These days I love any and all kinds of guitars but im still drawn to the ones less traveled i guess. By that i mean unconventional guitars or major models but with different finishes or features
