What is this? Is this your own material and recordings?
Yes. I wrote, and arranged all lyrics and music. I engineered the recording. It is my band performing. I’m the vocal and lead guitar on this track. It is the third passage of a piece we just call “Trilogy”(which can be found on our SoundCloud page now too).

Well, I'll tell you what... Earlier this morning I listen to this on my phone, and I says to myself: "Hmmmm, intewesting!" Then now, I listened to it again through my killer desktop speakers, and now I'm like "OH HELL YEAH... :dood:". That's some pretty cool sounding music. I can't understand the vocals, but the tone of the vocals flows nicely with the music. What are your influences? Dream Theatre? Rush?Yes. I wrote, and arranged all lyrics and music. When I first heard it, I was thinking that it was Mastodon-ish. But I suspect this is older than Mastodon.

Honestly, this song, among a few others, just came to me...complete...every part(plus some that I couldn’t quite squeeze in there)...just...boom! It’s there! I’d better figure out how to express it before it goes poof. It was put together pretty directly after the events of Heaven’s Gate tragedy were revealed. The music started in my head while I watched the news footage of the dormitory, and the farewell message from the leader. I’m thankful that I had a 4-track to sketch with.
As to developmental influences....for this sort of thing...kinda prog-ish with various time signatures... I guess Rush, Zappa, King Crimson, Floyd, Tool, Soundgarden. But so much more that I listened to through the years. This was written at a time before I started learning much of any cover material...I was a listener, not a cover player, in those days.
