The bandleader insists on custom.picks for us...these are Fender Mediums...

I use 8s on everything. They don't go out of tune any more than any other gauge of string.

I tried the .008/.010/.015 last night. I hit the strings so hard that I was getting an oscillation on every pick strike. They felt great, but I didn't like how they sounded.

I'm sure I could learn how to pick differently, but I didnt want to ruin the mojo.

It takes a little while to adapt, it's a bit like going from acoustic to electric., but yeah you can't beat the crap out of them without consequences.
