LOL yes....I mean, why spend $200 on setup when I can put a brand new Fender body on it ($100) and a gold plated Gotoh hardtail bridge for $40???

I'm not begrudging about what the tech charges, because I know he does awesome work, but to me, it makes more sense to just go hardtail for $140.00

I sure would have bought 3-4 more Schecters based on proven track records vs. throwing darts at Fender/Warmouth/Gotoh etc dartboard and expensive darts at that.

My purple Schecter was $1,400 and worth every penny, but I like the YelloStrat for playing in bar bands...

Definitely would not begrudge a charge for premium Luthier work that yields a reliable and exceptional instrument

Agreed...but the tech maintains the Gotoh SD-91 Vintage Tuners are the culprit, and you can even even search Google for Gotoh SD-91 Vintage Tuners going out of tune and find zero hits.

Ok, there's one thing the Fender guy told me that surprised me.

He said the Gotoh tuners are "junk" and my experience has been just the opposite.

He prefers the Fender tuners, which I don't think are nearly as good...

200.00 set up -- Hell I buy most my guitars for that or less.............just throw it to the craigslist wolves and get another one .......if that dont work out wash rinse repeat (and possibly PROFIT!!!!)

I think it could be the nut as well. My Gotoh tuners stay in tune. No issues whatsoever .

I wrote previously about my difficulties with my YelloStrat tuning issues, specifically that it went sharp after every tremolo bend. The Warmoth neck came equipped with a Graph Tech Tusq XL nut that was CNC machined. The slots measured .047, .037, .027, .017 .012 & .010 - exactly .001" wider...
