NGD! Look at my new TELE! Calling Ramo.....

I have thanked John a number of times for all his help, But I must also pass on just how thankful I am for his assessments and tweaks to the guitar even before I put my mitts on it.

Having the brotherhood we have here is such a blessing. I cannot thank him enough for having been willing and able to meet the seller for me up in his neck of the woods. Sure adds to the comfort level on a remote sale and sending funds to a stranger scenario.

OK for all who do not know it. I bought a used Jackson Randy Rhoads RR3 V guitar from a guy in NJ not too far from Jtcnj's house. He was kind enough to meet the seller part way between their houses to retrieve it for me. I told him to give it as much playing time as he wanted until I was able to come get it from his place. A few weeks went by and I finally got it after hearing the good and bad news about it whiel he looked it over. AND from poor John having to recove4r from Covid, me having to make a few trips to take care of my elderly mom in Delaware and of course the 6 hour round trip from mom's to John's and then on back to my house south of Baltimore.

The issues were the known ones, a couple wood chips missing off the pointed areas ( headstock tip and long point tip)
The unknown until John got it,,, neck shifting in the pocket which caused string misalignment inward on high e side, outward on low e side almost to neck edge.

John tweaked it some, but it shifted back while at his house. I intend to swap out the screws for tighter machine screws, install threaded inserts, which will bite into the neck and ensure no slippage, and yield no wear and tear on the neck holes. This will make for good mating of the body and neck area as I intend to use Allen of Torx head machine screws instead of phillips head ones that are easily stripped.

Pics and all as progress comes. Oh and I am definitely going to be learning all about Floyd's with this experience.
